In 1981, David Peace started a small furniture company after realizing how much he enjoyed working with his hands to create something new. What began as a humble backyard re-strapping business grew into a reputable furniture manufacturer employing over one hundred and thirty people today. Of course, the journey was not without its challenges: from declaring bankruptcy early on in his entrepreneurial career to feeling the pressure of providing for a family of five children, David faced numerous trials and tribulations over the course of Windward Design Group’s growth. Through it all, he learned one critical lesson: through perseverance and a commitment to craftsmanship, it would be possible to reach levels of success he could not have dreamed of. This commitment to quality craftsmanship has been the foundation of Windward Design Group since the very beginning: from the days when it was just David, his own two hands, and a few machines in his backyard; to the years during which all five of his children learned the trade from him first-hand; to the present warehouse full of employees, the Windward Difference has been a passionate approach, discerning eye, and unending commitment to producing the best pieces possible.
