How to Care for and Maintain Your Windward Furniture

CLEANING ALUMINUM & POLYMER COMPONENTS

Most dirt and debris can simply be washed off with just water.
For more stuck on dirt, a mixture of 1/4 cup mild dishwashing
liquid per 1 gallon water may be used. A soft cloth or soft bristled
brush are recommended if scrubbing is necessary.

If use of a pressure washer is necessary, do not exceed 1,500psi
using a wide fan tip. Keep tip of wand at least 16 inches from
furniture.

CLEANING CUSHION & SLING FABRICS

Cleaning dirt, debris, and spills as soon as possible is the best
way to keep your upholstery looking good for as long as possible.

Always blot (don’t rub) liquid spills.

Apply an absorbant such as cornstarch for oil based spills.

Always use a soft cloth or soft bristled brush if necessary.

Rinse fabric thoroughly to remove soap residue and allow to air
dry completely.

SUNTAN LOTION, Butter, Grease, Oil, Paint, Salad Dressing, shoe polish, and tomato juice

Apply cornstarch as an absorbent, remove excess with a straight edge, clean up with dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly.

CRAYON

Treat with isopropyl alcohol. Then clean with 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid per 1-gallon water and rinse thoroughly.

Tree Sap

Treat with solvent to soften and remove as much of the tree sap as possible. Repeat as necessary. Then clean with soap and water and rinse thoroughly to remove solvent.

Bird droppings Ketchup, Mustard, Coffee, Cola, Egg (raw), Grape Juice, Milk & Tea

Combine one-fourth cup of dishwashing liquid per one-gallon water. Rinse Thoroughly.

Ink &
NAIL
POLISH

Treat with acetone. Then clean with dishwashing liquid and water. Rinse thoroughly.

MOLD
MILDEW

Treat the affected area with a mixture of 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid and 1 cup bleach per 1 gallon water. Rinse thoroughly.

WINE

Treat the affected area with a mixture of 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid, 1/3 cup white vinegar, and 1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide per 1 gallon water. Rinse Thoroughly.

Candle Wax

Apply heated iron over a towel. Treat with isopropyl alcohol. Then clean with one-fourth cup of dishwashing liquid per one-gallon water. Rinse Thoroughly.
